Yes, I currently accept:
United Health
Medica
UMR
Other Optum plans (ie: Student Resources, Surest)
You will need to confirm your specific mental health benefits by calling the number on the back of your insurance card.
I am also an “out of network provider” for other insurance plans, which means I do not directly bill other insurance companies. You may be able to request out-of-network reimbursement. In this case, I am able to provide you with receipts or a “superbill” with information needed to seek potential reimbursement from your insurance provider. The client portal will provide all documentation needed to assist with reimbursement. If you wish to use out-of-network benefits or a health/flex savings account, it is your responsibility to verify your ability to use it for behavioral health services with your benefits provider. If you are considering submitting to your insurance company for reimbursement, I encourage you to contact your insurance provider and ask the following questions:
What are my out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my out-of-network deductible?

At a free 15-minute consultation, we will briefly introduce ourselves and then I will ask you to share what brings you into therapy, your past experiences with therapy, and I will review my approach, services, and processes.
At an initial diagnostic assessment, we will spend time reviewing your symptoms, life history, history of therapy, current significant factors in your life, possible diagnoses, and begin to create a treatment plan.
I always aim to complete the initial diagnostic assessment in one 60-minute session, but there are times in which this may be spread out over two sessions. I encourage people to complete the "Client History" form on the client portal to aid in keeping this initial assessment efficient.

Therapy is most effective if we meet regularly, especially at first. I usually encourage meeting once per week for the first three weeks. From there we can determine how to proceed. Generally, I meet with most of my clients weekly or every other week, depending on their needs and goals.

At this time, I only work with adult individuals, ages 18+.

I am only accepting patients within Minnesota. Because I offer virtual therapy, my patients can be located anywhere within the state.
